Visit To ART Projects
On April 12 Renata M. Ellingsen, NCA Programme Coordinator for Europe and Central Asia, paid a visit to Gavar community development Centre. The project started in 2010 with the financial assistance of the NCA. His Grace Bishop Markos Hovhannisyan led a short round in the Centre where the guest saw computer, carpet weaving and embroidery classes. Members of the newly created Women’s Council very warmly expressed their gratitude to the donor organizations, ART and NCA, for supporting training for their children. The visit was supplemented with a short presentation of the Centre’s activities in 2010. It was done in good English and everybody was impressed by that. Singing and dancing completed the excellent impression gained from the overall work carried out here.
On April 14 Mrs. Ellingsen visited locations where the ART has organized sales of honey produced under the NCA grants in Ijevan region. Mughni Monastery and Oshakan church areas turned to be well suited for sales as big numbers of tourist visit these landmarks each year. She was heartily welcomed by His Grace Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan.
The same day a visit to ECO-99 demo farm motivated to think about innovative solutions for implementation on saline lands.
