Swiss Visit To Armenia

A protestant magazine "La Vie Protestante" organized visit to Armenia through August 29-September 11, 2011. Within the frames of the visit, as communicated to ART by Swiss Interchurch Aid, EPER — Entraide Protestante Suisse, ART hosted two visiting groups and introduced "Promoting dialogue for regional reconciliation" programme sustained by EPER.
A power point presentation on the programme was made and a piece from Armenian-Azerbaijani documentary film “Peace with God” produced within the programme shown as background information and an overview of situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Another short presentation was made on “Honey production as a way of development” project, which is availing income generating to farmers of bordering communities of Tavush province in Armenia. The idea of making souvenir honey jars in Armenia was stirred by EPER honey production project in Latin America. The proceeds from jars sales are channeled to social projects in bordering villages in Armenia.
The meetings were inspiring for ART and served source of insight and sharing over the common vision for peace, role of women and religion in peace and reconciliation. The groups spoke with appreciation of projects initiatives and made contributions to social projects in Armenia by buying monastic honey jars.
