Round Table Meeting On Computer Literacy Project

Within the framework of “Computer Literacy for Everyone and Development of Computer Centers” project ART organized a round table meeting and brought together the trainers and executives of the computer centers aiming to keep them informed and updated in the frames of the project on 6 July, 2011. The participants were given the opportunity to share experiences, discuss existing problems, methods and approaching of solving them, discuss their methodology of teaching, stakeholder and other experiences in the daily work in computer centers.
The site staff of the computer center of Gyumri Social Center introduced a presentation acquainting their work in the center, the ways and secrets of effective coordination and management of the daily work, the importance of the planning and good organization of activities in the center and specified in the end that all the mentioned issues are key components to a successful operating computer center. They, also, shared their experience about the organizational and programme work with the communities, the leading and supporting role of the Church and their management in all their initiations.
The participants asked questions, discussed the importance of conducting qualified classes of computer literacy basic and other programmes pointing out the consequence of vocational trainings for the site staff aiming to build capacities for the future achievements and towards the sustainable development of the computer centers. It’s worth to mention that they prioritized the development of cooperation among the partners that will give chances to enhance skills in coordination of the programme work and professionalism in coaching.
By the end of the meeting the group specified and posted the achievements and problems in their centers and contributed to the distribution of the computers.
The participants suggested their next priority for capacity building to be a workshop on “Web Design” and “Sustainability Toolkit” and create a “Computer Literacy Development Working Group” in Facebook.
