Monitoring visit to Gavar and Vardenis

On June 26, 2014 ART Programme Officer  Karine Baghdasaryan and Monitoring/Evaluation Officer Gharib Harutyunyan paid a monitoring visit to Vardenis and Gavar towns targeted in the frames of “Improving socio-economic conditions in selected provinces in Armenia 2011-2015” project.

The aim of the visit was twofold: monitor the project  achievements and finalise the draft sustainability plan for Gavar Communal Educational Centre. 

In Vardenis Centre 145-150 beneficiaries, mainly children and youth,  get skills in carpet weaving, table design, dress making, etc. in order to increase their family income.  In Gavar Centre, too, hundreds of beneficiaries are given opportunities to make money through initiation of income generation related activities, such as vocational training and work in Centre bakery and felting workshops.

In Gavar the draft sustainability plan of the Centre was discussed and finalized.
