‘Awareness Raising Steps Towards Family Welfare’ project at ‘Holy Sign’ center

In a vibrant and heartwarming atmosphere rich with interactive and educational formats, a community event was held at the “Holy Sign” Social and Cultural Center in the Araks enlarged community of Armavir Region, involving children and parents directly in its proceedings.

Center Director Hasmik Mkhitaryan and community spiritual leader Reverend Father Gevorg Krtikashyan, within the framework of the WCC ART “Awareness Raising Steps Towards Family Welfare” project, organized a discussion-event on “Child Protection and Rights”. Several families from Gay community actively participated in this meaningful gathering. The discussion aimed to elevate parents’ and children’s awareness regarding children’s rights and the mechanisms for their protection.

The core themes explored included “International and National Legislative Foundations of Children’s Rights”, “How to Recognize Rights’ Violations and Take Appropriate Action”, and “Parental and Children’s Responsibilities and the Importance of Mutual Respect”.

By the meeting’s conclusion, parents expressed gratitude for the opportunity to review and clarify their roles and responsibilities, deeply acknowledging their significance. The children, meanwhile, noted that they now better understand their rights and, when necessary, will more confidently protect them.

The meeting passed in an inspiring, warm atmosphere filled with playful and group discussions.
