Children Celebrating Palm Sunday

The Department of Christian Education of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin with the support of the ART backed by its partner Churches Helping Churches, Germany, with the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, initiated celebrations of Palm Sunday with the involvement of about 14 000 children from 350 kindergartens throughout Armenia.
Children from senior groups of kindergartens accompanied with tutors and parents visited local Churches through March 24-28. Parish priests gave welcome and comprehensive introduction of the feast, cheered children with colorful leaflets, distributed posters on the feast with pictures of Jesus entry to Jerusalem and narrative description of the day largely to kindergartens throughout Armenia. Followed by Church visit, a chalk painting was an exiting continuation of the day. Children were delighted to do colored drawing in yards of Churches and kindergartens. Through these paintings children expressed their impressions and understanding of the feast. In-house celebrations and joy of the day were further taken to kindergartens and families.
