Nouneh Hartenyan’s family began a new life in Kaps village after being displaced from Kashatagh, Artsakh
03 Dec 2021

This is Nouneh Hartenyan, who lives with her husband, son, daughter-in-law and her grandchild․ Nouneh’s family lived in Kashatagh, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) for many years and was engaged in agriculture. Nouneh worked as a nurse and the family lived with dignified life. As the war started, the family was displaced from their house and lost everything: livestock, poultry etc. They moved to Kaps village, Shirak region, in north of Armenia, rented a house and started their life from a new page.

WCC Armenia Round Table staff conducted home visit and needs assessment in March 2021. The family was included in the beneficiary list. Cash assistance was provided. The family decided to obtain two calves. This cash assistance was the start of their own household which they are trying to expand now.

The project was implemented with the financial support of “Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe”, in close cooperation with VTB Armenia Bank. The project provided cash assistance to 482 families, 2259 people either displaced or war-affected from Artsakh.
