WCC ART Support to the displaced people from Artsakh
06 Sep 2021

On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan unleashed a war against the Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh).

Many families were forced to leave their homes and settlements.

The ecumenical Armenia Round Table Charity Foundation of the World Council of Churches decided to provide assistance to socially vulnerable families who were evacuated from Artsakh and take refuge in Aragatsotn, Armavir, Ararat, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Lori, Tavush, Shirak regions and in Yerevan.

From October 2020 to March 2021, the beneficiaries of the charity program were provided with bedding, slippers, coats, heaters, sanitary wares and food packages.

The Round Table Foundation implements the capacity building of priests and social workers for the benefit of social-psychological work for families affected by the Artsakh war.

In 2020-2021, about 10,000 people received support within the framework of the program devoted to people of Artsakh.

The total amount of support provided by the fund in the scope of the Artsakh program was almost 400 million AMD.

In parallel with the current programs, providing assistance to the victims of the tragedy of the Second Artsakh War will be the main and continuous direction of the Round Table Foundation's activities of this year.
