Zhanna Gabrielyan, displaced from Artsakh, establishes her own business with Armenia Round Table Foundation support
Zhanna Gabrielyan was displaced from Artsakh in 2023. For many years, she worked as a primary school teacher in Sarnaghbyur village. Now she lives with her husband, mother-in-law, and two daughters.
After being displaced, Zhanna decided she could no longer work as a teacher due to the heartbreaking loss of three of her students in the devastating war. The dual burden of displacement and emotional trauma had left her feeling helpless.
The family found refuge in the Masis community and began rebuilding their lives step by step in a new environment.
Like many others, Zhanna participated in the self-employment training program organized by the WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation. Her business idea—a greenhouse farming initiative—was approved by the committee.
Today, with the support of the Round Table Foundation, Zhanna has a fully operational greenhouse. Together with her husband and mother-in-law, she has devoted herself entirely to the work. Equipped with the knowledge gained from the training sessions, Zhanna participates in competitions and successfully expands her business.
