Meeting With ACT Development Impact Assessment Core Group

Meeting With ACT Development Impact Assessment Core Group
Impact Assessment Core Group meeting of ACT Development was held on July 18-20 in Geneva, Switzerland. The Core Group consisted of eight members from Christian Aid (UK), Churches Action in Relief and Development (CARD, Malawi), Lutheran World Federation (LWF, Sweden), Armenia Round Table, Church Development Service — An Association of the Protestant Churches in Germany (EED, Germany), Diakonisches Werk der EKD (Germany), as well as representatives of ecumenical organizations from Canada and Brazil came together to elaborate draft of Impact Assessment Toolkit.
As a result of two-day discussion a decision has been made to title the toolkit “Understanding the change we made,” which will be finalized by October 2008. The Core Group also designed to hold a global consultation of about 30 ACT Development participants to introduce them the toolkit and to plan further work of its dissemination and use in practical work. On the one hand, this considered to be a significant help to increase effectiveness of development work and better communicate results of work the participants are involved in. On the other hand, the toolkit will contribute to formation of common advanced standards for ACT Alliance and all its participants.
