20th Anniversary Of World AIDS Day

A public worship was served in St. Hovhannes church in Yerevan for the occasion of the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day. The service underscored the involvement and caring attitude of the Armenian Apostolic church to the People Living with HIV. The worship was initiated by Fr. Shmavon Ghevondian, who is also actively involved in the ART HIV project in close collaboration with “Real World, Real People” NGO.
Following the liturgy, Fr. Babken Hayrapetyan made the opening of the Press Conference on World AIDS Day, organized by the UN Theme Group on HIV/AIDS, and expressed the readiness and willingness of the Armenian Apostolic Church to work in the sphere of prevention, care and support of people living with HIV/AIDS.
