Discussion Of Annual Meeting Decisions And Suggestions
December 5 was a day of gathering of 20 representatives of 15 ART partner NGOs and Church structures at the Armenia Round Table to review important decisions and ideas voiced at the ART Annual Meeting on September 18-19. The meeting aimed at making clear the list of the decisions and discussing the prospective of network created with the membership of the ART partners.
The NGOs and Church structures present have long known each other during years of work with ART, and their collaboration took place through implementation of different projects through various activities and mutual visits. They perfectly realised the significance and seriousness of the work awaiting them in case of formalisation of relations of cooperation existing between them.
The notorious fame of different networks was major concern of the participants and hope was expressed that taking into consideration previous experience of networking, mutual assistance and cooperation as well as given the high sense of responsibility of the members, the network has good chances to be a success. Another phenomenon that raised some preoccupation referred to the different scale and sphere of work of the organisations that might hinder the establishment of the network, but it was acknowledged in the end that the establishment of network is important in terms of ensuring information sharing regarding activities of partners, their projects and work geography.
Moreover, to ensure success of the network it was suggested to get acquainted with the experience of other working networks as well as to provide for its viability through mutual study visits with duration of one week or even more.
It was decided to postpone formalising the network and to leave place for further speculations at the regular meetings to be organised by ART once in three months. The participants were encouraged to use the meetings to represent to one another peculiar profile of their organisations, work implemented and lessons learned to ensure exchange of valuable experience and to promote each other’s development.
