The workshop was attended by Ilonka Boldze Regional referentin, Team South East Europe / Caucasian Republics and Levan Abashidze, Consultant of EED.
The facilitators of the workshop were Ankica Dragin, and Wolfgang Heinrich, DNH trainers. The workshop started with revising the process of the previous meeting in Yerevan, and visit to the ART project site in Metsamour. Then a revision of the whole process took place. Participants had a lot of time for discussions, experience sharing and developing ideas.

On the 3rd day of the workshop a field visit was conducted to the USAID supported “Sustainable integration of the IDP’s into value creation chains of new settlement areas” project sites, implemented by CTC. After the initial presentation by Pavle Tvaliashili a group started on the trip. The first place visited was near the village of Tserovani, it was a newly built huge settlement with around 7000 inhabitants for IDPs from South Ossetia.
Other project sites (Brotsleti and Ergneti) were communities suffered from bombing. After this extensive travel a short stop in Gori was devoted to discussions of the projects which the participants had to analyze from the DNH point of view.

The main concerns expressed by the participants and the consultants were awarding grants to individuals for business activities, such as cafeteria, pig farm, mushroom farm. chicken farm, etc.
The last day of the training the group focused on monitoring and evaluation, how to generate the idea and go into planning, how to be sure that one is on the right track, how to conduct monitoring on the basis of the identified indicator which could help to produce the intended output and outcome.
EED is planning to publish a handbook on DNH in the end of 2011. The book will help the DNH training participants to conduct trainings for their partners, as well as mainstream the ideas of DNH into the work of their respective organizations.
