ACT Alliance activities in climate change

The 40th session of the UNFCCC  took place from 4-15 June 2014 in Bonn, Germany.   Karine Baghdasaryan, ART Programme Officer, took part in the meeting as a memebr of the ACT Alliance  Advisory Group on Climate Change Advocacy.
Overall progress made at the climate change talks was assessed, updates were provided on all areas of work at the conference,  as well as work towards a new agreement on climate change (CC) in Paris in 2015. Countries continue to strengthen the means of adapting to the impacts of climate change, the aim is to boost the effectiveness of adaptation action on the ground by providing the necessary tools and resources for it and by sharing lessons learnt.
On June 7 at joint  ACT Alliance /APRODEV strategy session  initiatives were discussed based on the update on CC talks.   ACT Alliance also discussed “ ACTNOW for climate justice” campaign strategy towards Lima COP20.  Toolkit and activities on global, national and community levels were developed in groups.
