If you are a current student or have recently (past 12 months) graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university in Armenia but can’t find a job due to lack of work experience, then “Bright Future for Youth” project provides you with a chance to obtain professional experience through a 3-month paid internship at leading Armenian companies and organizations. Young people aged 20-25 with no or limited prior work experience can apply for an internship position corresponding to their educational field.

The paid internship component of the “Bright Future for Youth” project enables talented youth to be involved in the activities of the most prestigious public and private sector institutions of the Republic of Armenia, paving a way for a successful career. Through the paid internship component, students and recent graduates improve their skills by working in various environments and gaining professional experience while working side-by-side with experienced professionals.
The “Bright Future for Youth” project was launched on 1 February 2020. The project is funded by the World Council of Churches Armenia Inter-Church Charitable Round Table Foundation (ART) and implemented by Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO).

Up to five months professional paid-internships launched within the “Bright Future for Youth” project for 21 Syrian-Armenian, Iranian-Armenian and local students of 3rd and 4th year and recent graduates (past 18 months). The project is being implemented by Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO) by the fund of the WCC Armenia Round Table Foundation.


Forty-six young Syrian-Armenian and local youth applied for the internship program, among which the selection was made on the basis of academic performance, activity and initiative, knowledge of professional programs and motivation letters. In the second stage the applicants had interviews at respective institutions.


The participants are students and recent graduates of Armenian State Universities from the faculties of Information Technology, Archutecture and Design, English and Communication, Stomatology, General Medicine, Pharmacy, Political Science/ International Relations, Software Engineering, Business Management.


The aim of the internship program is to develop the professional skills of students and graduates, to apply the theoretical knowledge gained from professional courses, to develop active professional activities in production and research programs.


According to the provisions of the internship component of the "Bright Future for Youth" project, the participants will dedicate 15-20 hours per week to their internships, for which they will receive a monthly salary within the framework of the project.


Thanks to the project, youth will gain professional work experience, new skills, which will become the basis for professional employment.

The "Bright Future for Youth" project is funded by Armenia Inter-Church Charitable Round Table Foundation and implemented in cooperation with Aleppo-NGO. The capacity building and internship program components of the project aim to improve the skills and competitiveness of Syrian-Armenian, Iraqi-Armenian, and other refugee youth, as well as local youth in the Armenian labor market, enabling them to achieve their goals.

As a result of cooperation of WCC Armenia Round Table Charity Foundation (ART) and the Bible Society of Armenia a project "Let's prevent together the consequences of pandemic and infodemia" was launched. A training was held about "Biblical Approach on Domestic Violence" with the participation of priests and social workers serving in the Armenian Apostolic Church Dioceses of Aragatsotn, Armavir, Shirak, Tavush, Gougark,  Gegharkunik. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the training was held online. Marianna Apresyan, a theologian, head of the project named "Healing psychological trauma" at the Bible Society of Armenia, was the trainer.

The online training focused on the Bible's approach to the violence against women, power, forgiveness, repentance, and obedience. Especially the condemnation of sexual violence against women in Jewish law, women in Jewish society and in the family were emphasized during the training. A reference was made to the children’s role in the family, as well as to the parent-child relationship. The healing image of Jesus Christ held a central part during the presentation, who came to fulfill the Jewish law and refused to be guided by the rules of violence and power.

As a result of an active discussion with the expert, the priests addressed the issues on the agenda in the communities under their auspices, receiving appropriate advice and guidance. The examples from everyday life also contributed to the visibility and efficiency of the presentation.

WCC Armenia Round Table Charity Foundation (ART) initiated a training course within the framework of the "Church Combatting Domestic Violence and Promoting Men’s Engagement in Addressing it" project for the priests and social workers serving in the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church Dioceses of Aragatsotn, Armavir, Shirak, Tavush,  Gougark,  Gegharkunik, Kotayk. Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, the training was held online. The trainer was psychologist Davit Gevorgyan.

The online training focused on gender stereotypes and prejudices, as well as the psychological characteristics of discriminatory behavior derived from them. In addition, the connection between these stereotypes and domestic violence, as well as ways to deal with them, were emphasized. The priests also discussed the issues on the agenda of the communities under their auspices about the above-mentioned topic with the expert and received professional advice and guidance.

For a decade from now, the WCC Armenia Round Table Charity Foundation, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund, implements projects aimed at preventing domestic violence in Armenia. Within the framework of these projects, continuous trainings were conducted for the clergy and social workers of the Armenian Apostolic Church, to carry out primary prevention of domestic violence, raising people's awareness in the communities and the RA Army, as well as providing personal, couple and family counseling.

A special attention is paid to the consultation with newlyweds or young couples preparing for marriage. Domestic violence has a complex and multifaceted nature that requires a comprehensive approach. For this aim the Church and Armenia Round Table Charity Foundation are represented in interdisciplinary working groups to develop multi-professional practical mechanisms. Involving men in action within the framework of the project is the key to prevent domestic violence.

The Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization (Aleppo-NGO) within the framework of the “Bright Future for Youth” project provided scholarships to 46 young students studying in Armenian universities. The project is funded by the Armenia Round Table Inter-Church Charity Foundation (ART).


As a result of an open call announced in February 2020, in total 102 students applied for the scholarship of the "Bright Future for Youth" project, 69 of which for the reimbursement of the tuition fee for the spring semester. The selection of applicants was made with the participation of Sarkis Bakhian, the Executive Director of Aleppo-NGO, Araks Martirosyan, the Project Coordinator, Karen Nazaryan, Director of the WCC Round Table Foundation, Rubina Devrikyan, Program Manager, and Armen Nersesyan, Educational Program Coordinator of the ''My Step'' Foundation.


Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commission conducted the discussion of applications online. The documents submitted by each applicant were minutely studied, taking into account the criteria for providing scholarships according to the project, namely, high academic performance, social activity and socio-economic needs. As a result of the considerations made by the members of the Commission, 46 students representing ten universities were selected. Scholars are citizens of Armenia, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Lebanon.

Armenia Round Table charity foundation (World Council of Churches Armenia Round Table Charity Foundation-ART) also joined the fight against coronavirus. The social centres of the dioceses of the Armenian Apostolic Church, by the support of ART, compiled lists of volunteers and are ready to support the Government of Armenia for assisting people facing social problems during self-isolation. The list includes 109 volunteers. In addition, the social centres have already started the provision of necessary foodstuffs, stationery and other necessary items on their own initiative.

"Arevik" social-educational centre of Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church by the support of ART, prepared food packages. During the first stage of the project, in the primacy of Tavush Diocese, the centre’s volunteers and clergymen, led by His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of Tavush, and "armed" with masks sewn by "Telik" social enterprise the food parcels. The food packages also included "The sweet fruit preserve of the Monastery". They were distributed to 33 socially vulnerable families living in Ijevan, Gandzakar, Sevkar, Azatamut, Ditavan, Verin Karmiraghbyur communities.

With the funding of the Mother See, the staff of the Social-Educational Centre of Shirak Diocese have also prepared food packages on the voluntary basis during those days. By the blessing of His Grace Bishop Michael Ajapahyan, the Primate of the Diocese of Shirak, they provide grocery and food package for 200 families of Gyumri. In addition, hygiene items are also provided by Shirak Diocese. With the help of Church benefactors, 50 other families also have received food packages.

In order to assess and support the needs of the beneficiaries, the Social-Educational Centre cooperates with the regional and municipal authorities to eliminate overlaps and make support more targeted.

Women sew 5,000 masks in the centre. The project of making masks is implemented within the framework of a project initiated by the collaboration of Armenia Round Table Charity Foundation and Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. In general, within the framework of the project, it is planned to sew 20,000 masks in the social centres of Gyumri, Ijevan, Vanadzor and in the "Hayordats Tun" of Etchmiadzin.
In order to help the community, with the support of Shirak Diocese, bedding is being sewn that will be allocated to the inpatient departments of the region's hospitals. A few days ago, the Social-Educational Centre of Shirak Diocese donated blankets and hygiene items to the Gyumri Infectious Diseases Hospital and the Austrian Mother and Child Hospital. The employees of the canter are involved in both: all the works carried out on a voluntary basis and for their main work functions.

In April, under the auspices of the Diocese of Aragatsotn and Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, nutritional support has been provided to 115 socially vulnerable families. The center holds meetings with clergy and art classes online.

By the initiative of NGO "Narek" 40 students of the elementary school operating at the Center of spiritual culture after St. Gregory of Narekatsi in Karakert of the Diocese of Armavir, providing hygiene items and stationery. The canter has moved all courses to online platform.

The social centres of Gavar and Vardenis of Diocese of Gegharkunik also have moved all courses to online platform. All the centres that have taken a distance course prove that one of the main obstacles is the lack of devices and the Internet in the families of some beneficiaries.

Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցու Արագածոտնի թեմն ապրիլին սննդային աջակցություն է տրամադրել «Սուրբ Մարիանե» և Սաղմոսավանի սոցիալական կենտրոնների 47 սոցիալապես անապահով և ծանր դրության մեջ հայտնված ընտանիքների: Տրվել էր առաջնային անհրաժեշտության մոտ 9 կգ սննդամթերքի մեկական փաթեթ, որը կենտրոնի կամավորները տարել են ընտանիքների բնակության հասցեներ:
